Toyota Prius is a gasoline-electric engine cars best-selling

Toyota Motor Corp said sales of the Prius in the United States will again increase after the availability of supply of hybrid vehicles from Japan. Is the biggest-selling Prius hybrid, which was launched since 2007, but in October sales fell by 9.4 percent due to supply shortages.

In addition to supply, another important factor is the price of fuel. Toyota USA President Jim Lentz said the combined sales of petrol-engined cars and electricity will increase with rising fuel prices.

The same thing happened when the average price of unleaded gasoline in the U.S. reached a record U.S. $ 4.114 per gallon on July 17, 2008, when the price of hybrid cars skyrocketed.

Lentz said Toyota's U.S. sales target of 16,000 units of the model plug-ins in 2012. "Sales of the Prius will be much better in November and beyond," Lentz said, as quoted from the pages of Automotive News, Monday, November 21, 2011.

The sale is expected to increase Toyota's U.S. portfolio, after declining sales due to the earthquake and tsunami in March. Toyota holds 70 percent of U.S. hybrid car market.
